I'm really pissed at you, Ted. I'm not surprised you ignored my first email that naming a Blind Vice Chiquita and using the term as the equivalent of an ethnic slur. Recently you wrote that you're gay so you're going to protest gay jokes. Well, guess what, I'm going to protest Hispanic slurs. But it seems when the shoe is on the other foot, it's OK as far as you are concerned. Every time someone writes in guessing about "Chiquita" it pisses me off even further. BTW I see the nut jobs have taken over the Bitch-Back commentary. Serves you right.

ReplyDeleteAs I said in my original email to Bibby, it's not that "chiquita" has any negative connotations, it's that it identifies the vice with an ethnicity. I stand by my objection, because we all know that names CAN hurt you.

I see where you are coming from, but obviously the names are just meant to be hints, and I'm not overanalyzing the PC manner I'm dishing in, and neither should you. It's all in a day's goss, and sometimes it gets political, sorry! Still, my take is that not leaking the celeb's real identity is fair enough play! Plus, Chiquita has less to do with her appearance and more to do with her spicy friggin' tude.
Just when I've HAD IT with Bibby, he reels me in by listening when spoken to. But of course this is all in the midst of crap about Robsten so it will disappear into the ether.

She was alive when the police got there but died on the way to the hospital. I was on a site today where the comments about it were all shit kickers...you know, making jokes.
