"why me?"

"cause you saw me when i was invisible." - The Princess Diaries

wtf, u might say? what is this? well, the other thread was gettin' too long and i needed something new to post and this just popped into my head.

50 comments:

  1. The Princess Diaries?!? I beg your pardon. Desperate times call for desperate measures, I'm sure.

Colin Firth won best actor at the Critic's Choice Awards. Some little bit of justice in the system.

  2. Hmmmm, that's what I feel like lately-invisible. First, you guys totally ignore my horoscope post. Then BB tells me the "H is silent". Yes dear, sweet BB, I know that and that's why I spelled it without the H! Sheesh, what's a girl gotta do to get a drink around here? LOL!!!

    ReplyDelete
  3. PS - BB's sweet princess has a birthday next week! Thanks to the almighty FaceBook for the heads up.

  4. here Judes, have a bloody mary...and i'll drink one too.

as for your horoscope post, i really didn't ignore it...in fact, i found out that i'm not a gemini anymore but a taurus - i am now so confused!!! for an update on all the hoopla, go to: http://www.cnn.com/video/data/2.0/video/bestoftv/2011/01/14/exp.am.carroll.zodiac.cnn.html

  5. as for you sweet princess aka Ms. Superiority, first you criticize Roc's internet usage and now u criticize my choice in movies. granted, the Princess Diaries was not a serious, award-worthy film but it was light-hearted and cute and there is nothing wrong with that. it was like a modern-day Cinderella story. i also like Julie Andrews and the dude who played the limo driver. also, the cat in the movie reminded me so much of my lil P.J. he looked just like him.

  6. btw, i'm also a fan of the movie, Casper. loved the theme song:

    "Every now and then
    We find a special friend
    Who never lets us down

    Who understands it all
Reaches out each time you fall
You're the best friend that I've found

    I know you can't stay
A part of you will never ever go away
    Your heart will stay

I'll make a wish for you
And hope it will come true
That life would just be kind
    To such a gentle mind
    If you lose your way
    Think back on yesterday
    Remember me this way
    Remember me this way

I don't need eyes to see
The love you bring to me
    No matter where I go

And I know that you'll be there
Forever more a part of me, you're everywhere
    I'll always care

I'll make a wish for you
And hope it will come true
That life would just be kind
    To such a gentle mind
    If you lose your way
    Think back on yesterday
    Remember me this way
    Remember me this way

And I'll be right behind your shoulder watching you
I'll be standing by your side and all you do
    And I won't ever leave
    As long as you believe
    You just believe

I'll make a wish for you
And hope it will come true
That life would just be kind
    To such a gentle mind
    If you lose your way
    Think back on yesterday
    Remember me this way
    Remember me this way."

  8. WELL! That puts me in my place. I guess I am a friend who lets you down. (hangs head)

Yes, Princess Diaries is a light piece of fluff. My main complaint with it is that it launched Anne Hathaway, an actress who never fails to disappoint but is continually hyped. I will, however, check out that excellent sounding cat. (BTW, there is a lovely tuxedo cat in Bright Star. It is the director, Jane Campion's, cat. He even participated in some of the extemporanious dialogue at one point as Abbie Cornish's reprimand to him during a scene in which he was trying to catch a butterfly was ex script.)

I ignore all horoscope related news items. It was well know for a long, long time that the stars are in different ascendancies in the modern era than when they were charted for the ancients. I don't care. It's all a hum for me. But I can see why Judes and Teddy would have their panties in a bunch over it.

Yes, it is the anniversary of my birth this week. Quite a world shaking news item. Want to know which number it is?

    ReplyDelete
  9. oh, to think that this week the world was graced with the presence of my sweet princess...this calls for one hell of a celebration!!! how's about a marathon of fluffy movies? as for what number if this year's b-day, not sure i ever learned how to count that high. *snicker* oh, how i make myself laff!!!

as for astrology, you do know that it was a precursor to the science of astrology and the stars play an important part in the Bible. i mean, how do u think the 3 wisemen found the baby Jesus?

    ReplyDelete
  10. btw, remember to check out that Casper song on youtube.

    ReplyDelete
  11. correction to the above post: a precursor to the science of astronomy.

    ReplyDelete
  12. and my sweet princess, i know you'd never let me down!

    ReplyDelete
  13. Well, if I reached out each time you fell, and I was a ghost, wouldn't you just fall through anyway?

Yes, I know to count to my age you will run out of fingers and toes and have to begin again a couple of times. Use an abacus.

I will be 61. What's more my first born will be 38 a week later and my youngest will be 28 a week after that. Age is a privilege that lots of people don't get. In order to see my children reach these milestones I naturally had to age myself.

    ReplyDelete
  14. now let's not get so technical sweet princess and u ain't much older than moi.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Oscar-nominated British actress Susannah York dies/she was 72...died of cancer.

    ReplyDelete
  16. I saw that about Susannah York. She was in the movie "Franklyn" a couple of years ago, looking like she weighed no more than 90 pounds. I had to look up the credit to see why she looked so familiar.

    ReplyDelete
  17. BTW, I am DECADES older than you, Teddy. I was readin & writin when u were shittin in your pants. Oh yeah, that was last week.

    ReplyDelete
  18. how old do u think i am? and i haven't shit my pants for nearly a whole month i tell u!!!

    ReplyDelete
  19. I know how old you are, Teddy. But the question here is, how many others know? (And I'm not tellin.)

    ReplyDelete
  20. hey Tisha, it looks like it's just u and me today.

    ReplyDelete
  21. We can just cuddle.

The Bears were playing today, so that probably took out Judes. Roc never comes here on weekends...it must be against his religion. And lfj is probably at a soiree for the dead.

    ReplyDelete
  22. OMG Tisha, i just found out that Ric has never seen the movie the Valley of the Dolls. i would never have guess that there would be a gay guy on this planet who has never seen that film. LOL

    ReplyDelete
  23. Well, now you get to show it to him. Bite your tongue, though, from telling him what's about to happen. Patty Duke is just too, too divine in that film. A genuine classic.

    It's on youtube.
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=15gT1D_71bg

    ReplyDelete
  24. yea, it was so campy and godawful that it was good...a classic indeed! thanks for the link! Patty was always one of my favorite actresses. As a boy, I had a big "crush" on her. never missed an episode of the Patty Duke Show.

    ReplyDelete
  25. It is a hoot! They take drugs, you know, and have indiscriminate sex so they wind up empty and alone. Right? Right.

    ReplyDelete
  26. and i loved the theme song...on the initial episode of the series Nurse Jackie, k.d. lang does a great cover of it but i can't find it on youtube and that really sucks!

    ReplyDelete
  27. Can we have a standing ovation for Rickie Gervais who clearly declares the emperor has no clothes?

  28. it looks like it's just u and me kid...

    ReplyDelete
  29. Yeah, once again the two pillars of the blog.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Tisha, you do your think Nicole had the first baby herself?

Gawd, thanks (not) for the photo of the "haint," as my southern in-laws would say. Gag, the vein in her forehead.

Hey, I was watching Da Berz, too, taking part of the day off from the dead. Will have to cheer for the Pack now, though.

I have the k.d. lang version on my Ipod, downloaded from a disc I owned. You could probably find it on itunes, however.

W4G, get the movie for Ric as soon as possible!

    ReplyDelete
  31. Naw, Nicole had a surrogate both times but this time she saw the wisdom, career wise, of admitting it. (She could keep working.) I remember reading that right after her divorce she had an ectopic pregnancy and that she had had another early in her marriage. Two fallopian tubes is all we have. At best, Sunday Rose would have had to been a petri dish baby. But Nicole was always TOO thin to have been carrying a baby.

What?! You are rooting for Greenbay? Well, I suppose someone must. Are you a cheesehead then, lfj?

    ReplyDelete
  32. I love me some Packers, Bears, Steelers, and Vikings.

Before this announcement, I looked at "pregnancy" photos of Nicole and finally convinced myself that she did give birth. Now, I'm not so sure.

What was the hype beforehand about Angelina going to win a GG for "The Tourist"? I saw it on cnn.com or msnbc.com I'm sure. She and Brad were given a special close-up table, etc. WTH?

    ReplyDelete
  33. Listen, if she HAD won, it would have been for a film nominated as Best Comedy/Musical. Comedy? Now THAT'S funny.

The Golden Globes is just a television show. It is to award shows what a mule is to a horse. They resemble each other but no one has a show mule.

  34. Morning kids!
    I decided to visit Ted today just to see if anything fun was written. He did a Blind Vice BB today and nothing was mentioned about Twishit. He put one line in an answer about Twihards being crazy commenters and the whole board blew up. After wading thru 226 insane posts, I found this little gem I had to share before the dumbshits delete it;

    227.
    Cameo Tue, Jan 18, 2011, 9:20 AM

One stinking line in this whole BB about Twi and look how you psychos react. Ted is right, you are ALL friggin nuts!

LOL, got a kick out of this one-

    ReplyDelete
  35. Yeah, as soon as Bibby makes any reference to that twit franchise I bow out. He had the entire BB going without, until his last sentence. I get a feeling he's got a quota for E! and this is how he fills it.

But you know I remain pissed at him for his Chiquita Blind and he just keeps rubbing in the salt.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Yeah, I just love the answer he gave you that the name Chiquita has NOTHING at all to do with race when she is supposedly Naya Rivera....

He just wrote another BV about her and he should have just titled it "Ghetto Fabulous Chiquita". I can only stomach once or twice a week with him lately. Michael K from D Listed is fast becoming my new fave thanks to you P.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Yeah Michael K has got the gift. He knows how to be absolutely catty but never cruel, mostly because he admits how flawed he is himself. BTW, have you ever seen a pic of MK? He's a bit anorexic, but a cutey. (No, not as cute as you, Teddy.)

  38. Well, Judes, it looks like we've been abandoned. Don't worry, I still love you.

    ReplyDelete
  39. hey kids, sorry but gone for most of the day...had a dr's appointment in Atlanta.

well, this thread is getting a tad long and is in need of another post. since my sweet princess didn't like the heading of this post, anybody have any suggestions?

btw Tisha, one more thing about Valley of the Dolls. whatever happened to Tony Scotti? was this his only movie role?

    ReplyDelete
  40. hey Tisha, there is a Michael posting on the Jake/Mila blog on the AT. U think maybe it could be the same Michael who went awol on us?

    ReplyDelete
  41. Could be our Michael, but then again, it's a common name and there's no hint that it's him except that he's commenting on a Jake thread.

Yes, I think Tony Scotti disappeared off the face of the earth. Worse, I think he became a producer, but nothing since 1992 according to IMDb.

    ReplyDelete
  42. I don't think it's our Michael. Regardless of whatever has befallen him, he wouldn't not throw shout outs to you or P-

Ah, Valley of the Dolls. I still have a very battered copy of that somewhere. Isn't that where Bruce Bibby took his pen name from? LOL!
I loved the movie Bette Midler did about Jaqueline Suzanne (spelling?). She was so flamboyant yet Nathan Lane was so flat, isn't that an ironic twist?!

    ReplyDelete
  43. found out that Tony had only one acting gig (a tv series which never aired) after he did Dolls. He then became a record and movie producer and produced the godawful film, Lady Beware, which starred a young Diana Lane. it was filmed in Pittsburgh and i can remember going up there to see some of the filming - saw Diana Lane from afar. As an added note, the film centered around an actual dept store called Horne's...at the time i was dating a guy who worked there.

    for more info: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tony_Scotti

    ReplyDelete
  44. and yes Judes, bibby got his "stage" name from one of the characters in the movie.

    ReplyDelete
  45. So Valley of the Dolls has a lot to answer for besides the most god awful over acting and a script so cliced it created some of the clices.

    Gotta love it.

    ReplyDelete
  46. "cliched" "cliche" I'm really not drinking, I swear.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Happy Birthday, Tisha! Many more of the same.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Thank you, everyone, for your good wishes.

  49. Time for a new page Beloved Boss.
