Well, before I go much further, I've been thinking. I've never seen "Indecent Proposal," "Body Heat," or "Basic Instinct." All of those would probably be on the top of most people's sexy movies list. But when I think sexy, I think scenes rather than films.
"Brokeback Mountain," but the scene I'm talking about is the when Jack comes to visit Ennis for their first "fishing trip," and they passionately enbrace pushed up against the house.
"Fur" a movie I've just seen. Nichole Kidman fulfills a longstanding passion with a neighbor (Robert Downey Jr.) and rides him in his bed. Hot stuff.
There are other scenes in other films I could mention but I'll stop here for now.
I agree with Judes relative to Body Heat - Kathleen Turner at her best. You gotta rent it Tisha. amd btw Judes, the Last Picture Show is my favorite movie of all times, sexy or otherwise.
I don't like Glee either. It has a ridiculous and rather annoying story line. Plus the music is too sophisticated for what it's supposed to be. I've tried watching it about 4 times but have never been able to feel invested in the show. For all the talk, it actually has a rather small audience.
Madames, I must agree with W4G on "Glee." Maybe a little too many songs by Rachel (channeling Streisand)and too few songs from the 70s and 80s but . . . . the program helps me understand lyrics I'd never get otherwise. How else would I have known about "I bust the windows out your car"? Also, gotta love the renditions of "Somebody to Love" and "Losing My Religion."
I love you whether or not you are a Gleek BB! I am questioning myself really, as to why I don't like it. Everybody that follows it raves and usually I like campy stuff....
thank u lfj for agreeing with me...am so glad you had the sense to check back to see if i really took down my blog...thot we lost u there for a minute.
adn where in the hell is the Rocster? hope he didn't fall into the same black hole that Michael did...
I tuned into the "Losing My Religion" episode and it put the final nail into the coffin for me. The lyrics have nothing to do with having or not having faith. It's a Southern expression that means to swear.
But I could easily live with a Glee fan, if anyone needs a roomie. I do love music.
My significant other person individual someone who was raised by Southern Baptists in the Bible-quotin’, grits-eatin’ Deep South and birthed by a 15th cousin but who has since fled into the light and sanity of an enlightened and tolerant environment says “losing my religion” is not a phrase used to mean cussing in that region, although one can “bless someone out” with a string of cuss words.
Always thought the song was about losing love (earthly or spiritual?). I liked the anger with which it was sung on “Glee” when Quinn put things into perspective.
and lfj, i thot the plot was better than usual. loved it when Kurt sang a slow version of I Wanna Hold Your Hand while showing Kurt (as a young boy) with his father and how his father always took his hand when something bad happened. and Sue was funny (while speaking about the separation of church and state: if u wanna pray then go to St. Mary's on i love Jesus street) and the scene with her sister was quite touching. and then there was the "grillled Jesus"...
Kurt's rendition of that song is what I like about "Glee." The program sometimes (not always) reinterprets songs to make one re-think them. My favorite last night: "River Deep - Mountain High"! Nothing new, just lots of sass.
Withdrawing, withdrawing before some light shines on me . . .
I stand corrected, lfj. But I was quoting Michael Stipe. Maybe Athens, Georgia, has a singular Southern slang? Of course Michael also once said, "I'm not homosexual. I'm heterosexual. I'm just sexual."
i dunno, Deepthroat?!? :-D
ReplyDeleteTough one, very tough. I will have to think about this and even perhaps rerun some DVD's. This might take a while.

Why don't I like Glee?

ReplyDeleteThe parts of Glee are greater than the sum of its whole.
ReplyDeletePlease tolerate me for being a Gleek.

ReplyDeleteAnd lfj, watch out. Withdrawing from the light is very vampirish and you know how we feel about vampires around here. Maybe if they don't sparkle?
ReplyDeleteMichael Stipe also said, "Oh no, I've said too much." So, leaving the light. Away but not looking away.
ReplyDeleteOops, wrong quote. what a difference a word makes
ReplyDeleteMichael Stipe:
I'm not homosexual. I'm not heterosexual. I'm just sexual.
Sorry, Michael. This is how rumors get started.
Sorry to bust in on your Michael Stipe conversation, just had to share this with you all, it's hilarious!
