Aww, shucks, Teddy. Same to you and Judes, and Roc, and longingforjake. The best of everything life has to offer to each of you.
ReplyDeleteWe're socked in after a(nother) snow storm here in Chicagoland. The children will all be going out to pelt each other with snow balls and to build snow forts and snowmen. But there'll be many a family who won't be able to travel to grandma's house because the roads over the river and through the woods will be impassable.
ReplyDeleteWhat a winter, what a Christmas. To everyone, a safe weekend and a happy holiday.
I wish for all of you a figgy pudding and a bowl of wassail. Merry Christmas to each and "God bless us, every one."
ReplyDeleteSnow? Where I live it would be strange not to have it. Snow. It's so purifying and cleansing. Without it, I would be disoriented and dismayed.
ReplyDeleteYou sound like Garrison Keillor when he talks about winters in Minnesota. I don't mind the snow, really. It's the ice that scares me...and the drivers.
ReplyDeleteAs I gardener I've taught all my children and my granddaughter that snow is like a protective blanket for the plants. The cold and wind is only frightening when there is no snow to protect them.
guess what? i just got back from taking a walk in the snow. yep, that's right, in the snow! first time it snowed on Christmas in this here neck of the woods since 1963!!!! we already got about 1/2" on the ground and it's supposed to keep snowing until noon tomorrow.
ReplyDeletenow if only my sweet princess was here to cuddle with me in front of the fireplace!
ReplyDeleteI don't have a fireplace, Teddy, but I can burn supper instead.
ReplyDeleteBe sure and do the sidewalk slide where you get a running start and then glide as far as you can. I recommend it.
Wisconsin LFJ?
ReplyDeleteHope everybody had a great day today. The four of us devoured a 9 pound ham and a whole pumpkin pie-LOLOL! We is big eaters-
Do the slide BB, it's fun!
Well, the pumpkin pie would be ezy peezy.
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear you're ok and having a good Christmas, Judes.
I think lfj lives in Idaho, or maybe it IS Minnesota.
perhaps Ms. Secrecy lives at the North Pole.
ReplyDeletebtw, Merry Christmas Judes...glad u had a great day!
ReplyDeleteGlad it was a happy day for all. I'm eating pumpkin pie for breakfast in the morning! Merry Christmas, dears.
ReplyDeleteI see that lfj has a classical look, perhaps a bit better groomed than I. But I have the most hair, even more than Roc.
ReplyDeletethat pic of lfj was compliments of Judes - yes, lfj does have a classical look but looks-wise she just can't compare to my sweet princess! no offense intended, lfj!!!
ReplyDeleteThank you for the compliment, Teddy. But I've come to peace with my looks. I would never have been a leading lady but I would have been a heck of a character actor...cause I am a character.
ReplyDeleteyea, my sweet princess - you are quite the character!!!
ReplyDeleteGracious, Judes, you invest too much power in me! I'm at the heart of the Da Vinci Code, Knights Templar, Freemasons, Roman Catholic Church, and Opus Dei tangled web? Thanks, dear, but uff dah! TT would be better at that, assisted by W4G.
ReplyDeleteOh I would, would I? NOW YOU'VE EXPOSED MY DIABOLICAL PLAN!
ReplyDeletehey Tisha, i was aware of your diabolical plan a long time ago!!! i mean, u can't fool a fool...now can u?
ReplyDeleteOh the stories I know about the history of the Catholic Church. It really is fascinating. Like the soldier who was ordained a priest and elected as the pope all in the same afternoon because Rome was being attacked. Or when the seat of Peter was moved to France and the bishops elected a French pope at the same time that the remaing Roman bishops elected a Roman pope. Two popes. (The French pope was considered the only true pope.) Or the 16 year old boy who was elected pope because his powerful family wished it. There's a million stories in the papal city, to paraphrase an old TV show.
